Lip Balm Container

Our Intro

We created a unique lip balm container that stands out by being larger than standard options. The process began with hand-drawn sketches to explore different shapes and styles. After finalizing a concept, we moved to CAD software to refine the design with precise dimensions and details. Once the digital model was complete, we brought it to life with a 3D printer, allowing us to test the look and functionality before production. This approach ensured our container was both eye-catching and practical. The version the audience sees here is an all-black version at the request of the client.

Sketches

We began the design process with hand-drawn sketches, exploring different shapes and proportions for the lip balm container. This step allowed us to quickly visualize ideas and experiment with unique forms before committing to a final concept. By sketching, we could refine the design to ensure it was both eye-catching and functional. These early drawings served as the foundation for the next stages of development in CAD and 3D printing.

CAD Design

After finalizing our sketches, we moved to CAD design to bring the concept to life digitally. Using CAD software, we refined the container’s proportions, ensured precise measurements, and optimized its functionality. This step allowed us to test different design elements, such as how the cap fits and how the balm dispenses. The 3D model also made it easy to visualize the final product before moving on to prototyping.

3D Printing Prototypes

Once the CAD design was complete, we 3D printed prototypes to test the look, feel, and functionality of the container. This step allowed us to assess the size, ensure the cap fit securely, and make any necessary adjustments before final production. By iterating with 3D prints, we fine-tuned the design to achieve the perfect balance of form and usability.
